Cheremiss. umdőr `beaver'; rather accidental likeness, s. Mayrhofer KEWA. s. v. (not mentioned in EWAia 3.34f). - For the ending compare σκίουρος `squirrel' (s.v.), which is no doubt a loan, from Pre-Greek? (Perh. from *indarʷ-)
